Acoustic panels, tiles and baffles
Acoustic panels and baffles are used to absorb noise and reduce the passage of sound through a building. They are specified to help a building comply with Part E of the Building Regulations. Read More
Depending on the product, it may have a specific Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC), Sound Absorption Class (A to E) or Sound Reduction (dB Rw) rating.
Acoustic panels tend to be surface mounted, and feature an acoustically absorbent core which is sometimes covered with a decorative fabric. They can be manufactured for use on walls only, walls and ceilings, or ceilings only.
Acoustic baffles are suspended from ceilings to control the reverberation of sound. They are particularly suitable where an exposed soffit is required for thermal mass purposes.
Acoustic tiles are used in suspended ceilings, are commonly installed in public and commercial environments such as offices, hospitals, school classrooms and retail premises.
High performance acoustic panels and tiles can be used for acoustic environments such as music and broadcast studios.
