Patent glazing is the most widely used product in overhead glazing and applications of this system are found extensively in railway stations, shopping malls, atria, schools, canopies, conservatory roofs and northlight glazing.
Patent glazing is the term applied to a self-draining system of dry glazing that does not rely upon external glazing seals for its watertightness. It consists of a series of longitudinal supporting members (glazing bars), and an infill of glass or other suitable material. Glazing bars are attached to and supported by structural steel or timber members.
