Hydron's fire-retardant paint system for steel provides fire protection that complies with building regulations. Decorative finishes can be specified in gloss or semi-gloss colours to any standard BS or RAL colour. 

Nu-Flame steel paints are produced in water and solvent variants. Both are available in a range of fire protection options ranging from 30 to 120 minutes fire resistance.

The system comprises a base and a top coat.

Nu-Flame W Steel Basecoat

A thin film water-based decorative intumescent paint system providing fire resistance to structural steel and cast iron. It is applied to primed steel.

For bare steel, Nu-Flame HB Metal Primer should be applied prior to the application of the Nu-Flame W Steel Basecoat.

Nu-Flame Steel Top Coat

A hard, single-coat, high-build, flame-retardant and anti-corrosion coating suitable for internal or external steel and cast iron surfaces. It is based on a high-durability resin, antimony oxide flame-retardant agents, and high opacity, corrosion-resistant pigments.
