Wellington Construction has had a partnership with H+H for almost 20 years. When the company won its biggest project to date, H+H Celcon Plus Blocks were specified for the 95-unit housing site in Great Ellingham, Norfolk, because the team had confidence in the reliability of H+H as a supplier.

External walls

  • Standard faced brickwork, consisting of a multitude of colours from buff red to red-multi.
  • Cladding using Marley Cedral cement cladding, 100mm cavity, 7 newton dense 100mm block.

Roof

Standard timber truss construction, using a pantile roof in keeping with local vernacular architecture.

Floor

Insulated block and beam style polystyrene floor.

Reason for choosing H+H aircrete

H+H Celcon Plus Blocks have been used to increase build speed as they are lighter and easier to handle on site than standard concrete blocks, while offering all the benefits of masonry construction.

The blocks have been used on all cavity and party walls, using the robust details as the guidance for each application, and the site has been constructed using traditional mortar joints.
