Waterproofing membranes made from virgin HDPE are generally a more sustainable option than membranes made from recycled plastics if you need long-term performance. Some membranes made from virgin High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) have a tested service life of over 100 years. In contrast, membranes made from recycled materials may only have a 5 year life prediction according to EN 13252.

Delta MS 500, MS 20, PT and FM have a tested service life of over 100 years and are made from virgin High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). They have a higher safety and strength rating, and higher resistance to oxidation, than waterproofing membranes made from recycled materials.
