Challenge

Livingston boasts one of the largest indoor shopping and leisure complexes in Scotland.

After major refurbishment and development, The Centre was recently reopened as a contemporary-styled, modern complex, accommodating over 155 retail units occupying 1 million sq ft.

As part of the redevelopment, a new three-storey car park was constructed, providing 1500 spaces.

Solution

Lang+Fulton supplied screening panels and balustrading from their range of pressure-locked gratings.

The pressure-locked panels for ground level and surrounding the access ramp were made from mild steel to a bespoke aperture of 55x154cm with a 40x2mm bearing bar and 10x2mm transverse bar.

The robust balustrading for the upper floors and roof-top was made from Alto-44 with an aperture of 44x132mm and flat bars with a section of 30x3mm.

Alto is a cross-pressed grating with equal flat bars (egg-crate).

Outcome

Lang+Fulton supplied both cross-pressed and bespoke-pressed gratings for this project, to make sure the client's exact requirements were met.
