Manufacture

Shutter leaves are made from galvanised steel sheet that is 305mm wide x 1.2mm thick. They are formed to create a continuously interlocking, weathertight elevation interconnected by securely capped galvanised hinge strips.

The shutters are strengthened by a high-security leading edge manufactured from galvanised section, which incorporates pull handles. A draft-excluding overlapping section is provided as standard.

The top track that the shutter is suspended from is made from two 90mm-deep galvanised steel sections that are bolted together to give a strong, smooth-running section for the shutter and minimising friction.

Installation

The frame is top-hung from a ball-bearing pulley connected to the picket by zinc-plated pulley brackets. The base is fitted with zinc-plated bottom guide pieces that are retained in a galvanised steel, 3mm-thick bottom track.
