Context

Soundsorba worked with the decision-makers at Blue Coats School to establish the best possible acoustic panel solutions for the dining hall, arts classroom and reception area, all of which are large spaces with lots of reflective surfaces around, making it very difficult for the teachers and pupils to communicate.

Project detail

There were different requirements for each area, therefore different products were used.

Dining hall

An acoustic panel was required to fit in with the existing décor and also be at high level on the walls and the ceiling. Wallsorba® acoustic panels were used on the walls and the Echosorba® acoustic panels on the ceiling.

Arts classroom

The walls were out of bounds in this area as a lot of the pupils' work is displayed on the them. Therefore Cloudsorba® Class A performing acoustic panels were suspended from the ceiling, custom-sized to suit the classroom and finished in a contemporary fabric finish.

Reception

The ceiling was treated with Echosorba stick-on acoustic panels. These panels can be fitted individually or butted up to each other. They are simply glued on to the soffit, which enables very easy installation.

Outcome

The teachers and pupils are extremely happy with the end result.
