Context

BA Systems collaborated with Plan A architects to create balustrades for a building on Addlestone's High Street. BA Systems improved the balcony balustrades by extending and concealing the base trim for a seamless join with the facia.

Project detail

The company created a façade for the building's entrance that matched the other balcony facades.

This addition to the building highlights where the door is and also makes the entrance look appealing.

BA Systems also installed a vertical bar balustrade system onto the brickwork that runs around the building that ties in with the balustrades on the balconies above, as they used the same system for installation.

The vertical bar balustrades were installed by drilling into the brickwork to secure them in place.

Extended base trim

On the balconies, BA Systems extended the base trim to create a facia along the front edge of the balcony. This saved money for the contractors as they did not need to hire extra workers to fit a facia along the balconies.

Entrance facia

BA Systems also added a facia to the front entrance of the building which tied in nicely with the rest of the balconies, this also made the entrance look more imposing.

Ground level vertical bar balustrade

A vertical bar balustrade ran along the top of brickwork which ran around the building. This was installed by drilling holes into the brickwork putting the post in the hole, and filling it with concrete to make the balustrade sturdy.
