RHEINZINK is the first construction zinc manufacturer to reduce the already small footprint of its premium product line by more than half. RHEINZINK prePATINA ECO ZINC is now available.
A small carbon footprint, 100 percent recyclability and extreme durability already make titanium zinc an excellent material for environmentally friendly construction. The production of prePATINA ECO ZINC generates significantly less CO2 than any other construction zinc. The result is a perfect fusion of sustainability and aesthetics.
“Sustainability is firmly anchored in our corporate strategy. With prePATINA ECO ZINC, we are taking another important step forward on our path to decarbonisation, the conversion will save us more than 36,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.
“With this product line, we are providing discerning architects and builders with a material for constructions of the future. It inspires, provides freedom of design and at the same time is something like the definition of sustainability for the entire segment.”
Carsten Beier, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of RHEINZINK.
GENUINE RENEWABLE ENERGY
The reduction is possible because, for the first time, RHEINZINK is using only certified low carbon zinc from Europe for the prePATINA product line in the blue-grey and graphite-grey surface qualities. The zinc smelters there are among the world leaders in terms of climate efficiency. The energy for the process is largely generated without CO2 from green energy sources like hydro and wind power.
The most sustainable construction zinc in the world is suitable for applications including roofs, façades and roof drainage. prePATINA ECO ZINC makes the exciting relationship between sustainability and aesthetics even more exciting – and it is just the first building block of a new generation of products for the future of building.
