H+H, in collaboration with Roofspace Solutions developed the i-House™ System, using Celcon Vertical Wall Panels. Using the system, the entire weatherproof structure of a standard two-storey (or two-storey with room in the roof) house design can be delivered within two weeks.
The volumetric package includes timber I-Joist floor cassettes and a roof either of standard truss construction or the Roofspace I-Roof panelised roof system. The i-House system also includes all lintels and insulation – fixed to the exterior of the Celcon Vertical Wall panels and in between separating walls.
Vertical Wall Panel system advantages
The use of this building method provides the speed of offsite with the reassuring familiarity and proven performance of masonry build.
This method of building is an ideal Modern Method of Construction (MMC) which is now recognised by the NHBC.
The i-House system has also been certified by the Build Offsite Property Assurance Scheme providing assurance of its more than 60-year lifespan.
How it works
Intended for domestic property construction up to three storeys, i-House consists of inner leaves of external cavity walls, separating walls, floors, lintels, cavity closures, insulation and roof trusses with the inclusion of soffit and fascia for the internal skin of the property which is then fully wrapped and ready for follow-on trades. i-House can be combined with i-Roof, or can be fitted with traditional roof trusses. The external skin can be brickwork or any other form of masonry.
The large-scale H+H Celcon Vertical Wall Panels are manufactured from the same intrinsic material as aircrete blocks (AAC), with the same performance advantages including excellent thermal performance with reduced heat loss at thermal bridges. H+H's experienced team will run the project from start to the delivery of the wrapped structure, allowing clients to focus on other areas of the project, and also manages follow on trades.
