Origin front doors are made in the UK from premium-grade aluminium. They are fully bespoke, and can be manufactured to cater for a wide range of applications from single doors and French doors that can be used in a home or garage, to large entranceways with side flags and transom windows.

Size and configuration

Single door widths from 400 to 1130mm, and heights of up to 2700mm. For larger apertures, French doors can be specified, and smaller panels are available as side lights. Alternatively, there is the option to add Origin windows to the sides or top of the door as fixed panes (flags) to ensure it fits into an aperture of any size.

Colours

There are over 150 RAL shades to choose from, with many RAL colours available in matte, satin or gloss finishes. Different colours can be selected for the outer frame, door sash (where the panel sits) and the panel itself, allowing specifiers the freedom to opt for complementary, matching or contrasting shades. There is also a dual colour option available, allowing the doors to blend with different interior and exterior schemes.

Mid-rail options

Mid-rails are a popular choice for porches, and separate out sections in the door, which can accommodate either glass on both the top and bottom, or a panel can be used in the lower section for additional privacy. The horizontally fixed bar is available in two options: a 60:40 split or a 50:50 split.

Door knockers

For traditional homes, the classically-styled Affinity Urn knocker offers a timeless design that fuses modern symmetry with traditional character. For a contemporary look, Origin provides a vertical slim-line knocker. Both models have an integrated spyhole and escutcheon plate.

Letterboxes

Letterboxes with contoured edges are available in five different colours to complement different finishes. The fully sprung external flap opens to 180° in order to easily accommodate A4 letters, while an internal draught seal and external weather seal provide protection against the elements.

Thresholds

Doors are provided with three thermally broken threshold choices: weathered, non-weathered (standard) or non-weathered (ultra-low mobility).

Weathered thresholds ensure homes stay watertight and protected from the elements.
Non-weathered options offer a level floor-finish for a smooth transition between the inside and out.
The ultra-low mobility option features a threshold that stands at only 20mm when the door is open, making it ideal for wheelchair use. They are typically used for internal doors such as flats or doors inside porches, which aren't fully exposed to the weather.

Thermal efficiency

All doors features an advanced polyamide break, designed to limit heat transfer from the interior to the exterior. In addition, the panel is composed of inner and outer layers of aluminium, along with an ultra-insulating Therminax core.
