TVS was asked to design a versatile, multifunctional training area to be used across a number of new Xercise4Less sites. The design brief included provision for an area for sledge work, as well as floor demarcations for various activities such as walking lunges, sprinting and battle rope exercises.
Solution
After creating initial plans and agreeing the final design with the client, TVS ordered the materials needed to complete each of the projects. The subfloor was levelled to within an acceptable tolerance, and a hard-wearing multisports surface – TVS Sports Carpet (Green) – was bonded to the substrate to create a central lane for pushing and pulling a sledge.
In addition, SPORTEC Color-0, a black recycled rubber floorcovering, was installed around the outside of the green sports carpet area. A two-lane running track with 1m markings was created using two-part PU white paint, applied to the black rubber flooring. The perimeter edge detail was finished with a black uPVC trim to provide a safe and neat transition between the adjacent floor finishes.
The workout area is used for training small groups of people as well as one-to-one personal training sessions.
