Cloudsorba® acoustic ceiling panels for church hall
St Andrew's Church in High Wycombe contacted Soundsorba with an acoustic problem they had with their church hall. The hard surfaces of the hall were resulting in long reverberation times, which in turn was creating an unpleasant acoustic environment and making speech difficult to understand. After carrying out a free Reverberation Time Calculation
St Andrew's Church in High Wycombe contacted Soundsorba with an acoustic problem they had with their church hall. The hard surfaces of the hall were resulting in long reverberation times, which in turn was creating an unpleasant acoustic environment and making speech difficult to understand.
Solution
After carrying out a free Reverberation Time Calculation, Soundsorba determined how much absorption was required in order to reduce the reverberation time in accordance with BS 8233, the British Standard for reverberation in rooms. Soundsorba recommended the use of itsCloudsorba® acoustic suspended ceiling panels, which have a Class A acoustic rating. The panels are also available in a range of 72 standard colours, so the client would be able to specify a pattern and finish that suited their requirement.
Outcome
The panels were delivered to the site within a week of ordering, and due to their easy fixing method, a local contractor was able to carry out a problem-free installation.
Overall, the users of the church were very pleased with the improved acoustics of the hall.
