Vufold bifold doors and folding sliding doors work by folding back in a concertina effect as they are slid open, meaning that the entire space occupied by the door can be opened up. This makes them very desirable as external doors, as it allows indoor and outdoor space to meet without any glass panels getting in the way, as would be the case with traditional French or patio doors.
