Shepherd Building Group

Frederick Shepherd founded the Shepherd business in 1890, in York. Since then, the companies which form Shepherd Group have developed to operate on a major scale, employing around 3,500 people and with an annual turnover exceeding £600 million.

The company has three divisions: Built Environment Division, Industrial Division and the Property Division.

The Group's commercial operations include numerous well respected building industry brand names such as Portakabin, Portaloo, Portasilo, Yorkon and Portastor.
