Denholm Partnership Architects' buildings aim to explore and express sympathetic design and materials for the rural Scottish landscape whilst responding to the evolving needs of modern living.
James Denholm formed the practice in 1988, pioneering energy efficient timber frame design throughout Scotland from its base in Comrie, Perthshire. Expertise in one-off private housing within the practice has developed through the many domestic projects undertaken. Great emphasis is placed on trying to find the ideal solution for a client's needs whilst being aware of financial considerations and opportunities.
Working in areas of outstanding natural beauty... amongst mountains, lochs and rivers... has inspired designs that respond organically to their natural setting, optimising views, topography, orientation and using materials to create buildings that truly fit into their rural landscape.
