In 1982, Colin Taylor and Barrie Lane joined forces to form a partnership, to be known as Taylor Lane Timber Frame. They ploughed their savings in to the purchase of machinery, rented a disused dairy building and together manufactured their first timber frame kit.

Now Taylor Lane Timber Frame Ltd has over 100 employees, a turnover in the region of £12m, and owns all three of its purpose-built factories. It has grown to become one of Britain’s leading timber frame manufacturing companies, supplying the highest quality kits to clients ranging from self builders through to developers, housing associations and the commercial building sector.

Taylor Lane is ever expanding and now offers the fully engineered package, meaning that not only can you purchase your timber frame kit from us, but we can also design and manufacture your trussed rafters, engineered floor joists and structural steel.
