The Window Film Company® supplies and installs all grades of safety window films to existing glass.
Unsafe glass can be fragile and potentially dangerous. If broken, sharp shards can cause serious injury. Safety window films can help to minimise this risk - it may still break but, if it does, it breaks safely.
It is a legal safety requirement that certain areas of public buildings, including the workplace and schools, must meet a minimum safety standard. Building Regulations Approved Document N states that any glass fitted within critical locations needs to be safe glass.
Where windows and doors are not made from laminated or toughened glass, they either need to be replaced or need to have safety window films applied. Applying window films is much cheaper and faster than replacement glass. Once professionally installed by the company's trained fitters, the safety window film upgrades the glass to BS EN 12600 (previously BS6206).
The company applies a kitemark to every installed piece of window film to confirm the standard that it meets. Products come with up to a warrant of up to 10 years.
