Cladding for the modern day

As a rapidly renewable resource, bamboo is quickly becoming the go-to alternative to traditional timber and hardwoods. In an industry with a lot to prove to reduce its carbon footprint, the built environment is now looking for renewable materials that also boast key features such as durability and fire resistance.

Using a process of thermal treatment and compression, the product is low maintenance and resistant to rot and decay, ensuring a long lifespan on any building or project. Combined with its inherent renewability and ability to absorb high levels of CO2, bamboo allows a space to be created that aligns with values without compromising on beauty.

Endlessly renewable, responsibly sourced

The Outdoor Deck Company is committed to responsible sourcing practices, providing clients with a sustainable solution that helps combat deforestation. By nature, bamboo is rapidly renewable and harvestable without destroying the source.

Bamboo’s growth rate is incredibly fast, meaning it can be harvested every year, which in turn promotes faster growth. Supported by responsible managed plantations, the company's bamboo finishes are sustainable, responsible and beautiful, making them the perfect option for modern cladding.

Easily maintained

As a natural product, bamboo finishes can vary in colour, grain and appearance. Like most timbers, bamboo will naturally grey and roughen over time, a process which begins as soon as the installation is complete. The extent of this fading depends on the position of the boards and the amount of UV exposure. However, this process does not affect the quality and stability of the boards.

Through annual cleaning and maintenance with specialised products, the boards can be returned back to their original colour.

A finish designed to last

By design, bamboo boards are highly durable and resistant to most wear and tear. Through a unique thermal treatment, The Outdoor Deck Company’s bamboo finishes can seamlessly integrate into even the most highly trafficked areas.

This thermal process eliminates bamboo's appeal as a food source for fungi and micro-organisms, ensuring long-term resistance against decay. Additionally, the process significantly increases the density of bamboo, resulting in exceptionally hard and durable planks.
