Bespoke folding doors with vehicle motif secure Dutch mall
Bolton Gate Company was chosen to produce a modern multi-fold door with a unique vehicle motif to provide security at the Leidsche Rijn Centre in Utrecht. The design features matching transom and side panels and complements the surrounding structure. The mixed use development in
Leidsche Rijn Center is a neighbourhood under construction for shopping, living and working in the Leidsche Rijn district of Utrecht in the Netherlands. The suburb will be constructed on top of and around the Leidsche Rijn tunnel. The project includes 130 stores, 762 apartments and 9000m² of office space.
Requirement
Monolab Architects wanted a modern folding door design for one of the buildings whose elevation featured a repeating vehicle motif formed from powder-coated sheets with a pattern of 3mm-diameter holes to achieve the desired effect.
Solution
Bolton Gate Company was chosen to produce this door, which wasn’t available locally, and assisted local door company, Alldoorco, with the installation.
The design featured matching transom and side panels and complemented the surrounding structure.
