Context

The project involved waterproofing a large basement area for a new residential property in Surrey for Ali Galvin Homes Ltd.

The basement needed to be waterproofed to meet British Standard requirements for the protection of structures against water from the ground.

Products used

Newton System 500 was deemed to be the most appropriate waterproofing solution. Newton System 500 is an internally applied waterproofing system based on Newton's extensive range of cavity drain membranes, drainage conduits, and pumping and control systems.

Maclennan UK - a Newton Specialist Basement Contractor - was commissioned to design and install the cavity drain waterproofing system for the project.

Newton 508 cavity drain membrane was applied to all internal walls, with ingressing water collected into the base drain channels along the perimeter of the wall and floor junctions, where it is then pumped out using the Newton Titan Pro pumping system.
