- iMotion 1301 automatic swing door operators
Challenge
To automate key access points throughout the hospital as part of an ongoing programme of upgrade. The solution needed to be cost-effective, reliable and with a high level of functionality to cope with different levels of foot-traffic throughout the day.
Solution
Simplifying access for patients and busy staff at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Clydebank, TORMAX automated four internal swing door entrances using their advanced iMotion 1301 operators. Powered by almost ‘wear-free’ AC synchronous motors, iMotion door drives require minimal ongoing maintenance in order to continue delivering incomparable levels of reliability.
TORMAX iMotion motors do not feature any gears or brushes – key elements that generally require regular replacement due to wear and tear. This advanced design ensures outstanding levels of reliability, even when installed in areas of near-constant use such as the Golden Jubilee. Combining such exceptional longevity with a recyclable content of nearly 95% and low-energy operation, iMotion also represents a sustainable solution.
Outcome
The new automatic doors ensure a smooth through-flow of staff, patients and visitors. They also minimise the spread of germs, smoothly swinging open as people approach and negating the need to touch any of the surfaces.
