Challenge

Dorothy House Hospice provides free, high-quality care and support to people with life-threatening illnesses.

Since its foundation in 1976, the Dorothy House Foundation had been housed in Bath, but by 1990 – with a multi-professional team of nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, lymphoedema specialists, chaplain, pharmacy and support staff, and large numbers of volunteers – the House was bursting at the seams. In 1995, the move to new premises in Winsley took place.

Solution

270m2 of Rheinzink's double standing seam roofing was used for the purpose-designed building, supplied in a pre-weathered, blue-grey finish.

Outcome

The new premises are spacious, with purpose-built in-patient facilities and beautiful grounds, and has allowed the Foundation to expand its range of services.
