Swish cellular PVC represents an environmentally responsible use of plastics. It does not contain lead and is manufactured in an efficient and environmentally responsible manner. Swish takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously. It has an Environmental Policy under which a continuous programme of targets and monitoring ensures that the company uses resources efficiently and that energy and water consumption and waste of any kind is kept to a minimum.

In early 2006 Swish Building Products completed an audit of some of its cellular PVC products that were installed over 30 years ago. The condition of the profiles was such that they could be expected to last a further 30 years before replacement becomes an issue. This projected 60 year+ lifespan has important implications for the sustainability of newbuild and refurbishment in both the public and private sectors.

Swish supplies a number of markets via specialist independent plastics stockists. The Swish Approved Installer Scheme caters for the domestic refurbishment market. In addition Swish specialises in meeting the needs of the private and social housing specifier and contractor. Swish aims to provide sustainable products and collaborative working relationships to deliver best value.

Swish extrude cellular PVC into light, strong, weather resistant boards that will not warp, flake, crack or peel and are therefore ideal long life replacements for traditional low-grade soft timber components. A key characteristic of Swish cellular PVC is that it will not suffer from pinking discolouration.

Since being awarded ISO 14001 in 2007 Swish has concentrated on reducing the carbon footprint of its manufacturing and distribution facilities and is now one of the most efficient and environmentally responsible plastics manufacturers in the industry. Swish has consistently reduced its CO² output, water consumption and waste generation during this period. In 2014 Swish was awarded ISO 50001 Energy Management Certification which it holds alongside ISO 9001 Quality Management, Responsible Sourcing of Construction Products –BES 6001 and the Occupational Health and Safety OHSAS 18001 Certifications.
