The Myers Group owes its origins to Jack D Myers who in the late 1950's had the foresight to expand the family business (founded in 1923 in the name of Isaac Timmins Limited) from its building and civil engineering roots, into the manufacture and supply of construction materials.

He recognised the need for a specialised supplier of ready mixed concrete and established Readymix Huddersfield Limited in 1959. The company now supplies concrete from various locations around Yorkshire.

Johnsons Wellfield Quarries at Crosland Hill, Huddersfield was established in 1854 to satisfy the demand for building stone created by the industrial revolution. The business was acquired by the Group in 1979 and has continued to grow. The Quarry today has become the largest dimensional sandstone quarry and masonry works in Britain. A range of the world's most technically advanced stone working machinery, and the age-old skills of a team of dedicated stone masons combine to produce a quality of workmanship that will ensure Johnsons continue to carry the banner of Huddersfield's 'stone' heritage.
