Hygienic doors have an antimicrobial coating that kills or inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria such as C.diff, MRSA, Salmonella and E.Coli, as well as other microorganisms, including fungi and protozoans.
Anti-bacterial doors often feature a seal or flush joints to prevent the transmission of airborne particles and dust from room to room. In addition to providing anti-bacterial protection, the doors may also provide fire resistance, sound reduction, and / or radiation shielding for use in x-ray rooms.
Door hardware, including handles, knobs and fingerplates, can also be supplied with an antimicrobial coating.
For complete anti-bacterial room protection, anti-bacterial wall / ceiling cladding and hygienic paints and coatings are also available.
