Heritage is a lead-covered steel patent glazing system with a design that originates from the Victorian era. It is ideal for the replacement, refurbishment and upgrading of Grade 1 and 2 listed buildings, buildings of historic value and other prestigious projects.
The glazing bar consists of a rolled mild steel core that is sprayed with a proprietary rust inhibitor before being inserted into its cover.
The covering is a seamless, lead extrusion that incorporates a twin wing weathering system and glass seatings. The ends of the cover are soldered to give a hermetic seal. Cast brass fixing plates and glass stops are screwed on to produce the finished glazing bar.
Heritage has been produced by Standard Patent Glazing for over 105 years. It is still manufactured using the original powerful machinery, which has been exceptionally maintained over the decades.
The amount of time taken to produce each glazing bar is substantially higher when compared to modern aluminium glazing systems. The finished product also weighs more than twice as much. This means that the cost of the Heritage system cannot be compared with other patent glazing bars that do not offer the same traditional characteristics.
