Enviromat® sedum matting is used for extensive green roofs, as well as being well-suited as a low-maintenance ground cover.
The overall appearance of an Enviromat® sedum green roof is well manicured, neat and contemporary.
What is Enviromat®?
Grown on a special matting for strength, versatility and easy installation, Enviromat® is supplied with 95% coverage of mature sedum plants for instant greening.
This proven Norfolk-grown green roof system is probably the least heavy green roof build-up available in the UK, which makes it ideal for retrofitting onto existing buildings.
The species mix includes seven low-growing sedums with a small amount of Meadow Saxifrage, a native plant that produces pretty white flowers as early as April. The plants are all drought-tolerant and frost-hardy down to around -20°.
Where to use Enviromat® sedum mat
- Lightweight extensive green roofs
- Substrate roof where instant greening is important
- New buildings
- Retrofit projects
- Garden structures
- Bike sheds
- Bin stores
- Bus shelters
- Commercial buildings
- Dwellings
- Ground cover
Availability and delivery
Enviromat® sedum matting and green roof components are available on a supply-only basis or as part of a supply-and-fit package.
The lead time for supply is 3 working days for most of mainland UK.
The sedum matting should be installed on the same day as delivery, especially during summer months.
Installation service
When creating a green roof, it is important to use Harrowden's experienced green roof contractors – builders rarely understand plants and horticulturists rarely understand buildings.
For best results, Enviromat® offers an installation service that caters for the needs of the plants and the building.
Green roof maintenance
Maintenance is simple and inexpensive but it is important. It is necessary to budget for two maintenance visits per year. One in spring, one in autumn.
Enviromat's green roof maintenance service can cater for any type of green roof, in any condition, anywhere in the UK.
Regular green roof maintenance ensures that the green roof performs as required, and is cheaper than neglecting the plant layer only for it to fail and need replacement.
