Nu-Flame® Fire Upgrade is a water-based paint system designed to provide fire-retardant paint finishes for internal walls and ceilings.

It has been developed for use over multi-layered paints in communal areas such as stairwells, corridors and lift lobbies, without the need to remove existing painted surfaces.

  • Designed for overcoating existing painted surfaces
  • Existing painted surfaces do not need to be removed
  • Water-based system for reduced odours and no health hazards
  • Suitable for using in confined environments such as corridors, stairwells and lift lobbies

Finishes

Nu-Flame Fire Upgrade paints are produced in a range of finishes to allow site-specific requirements to be met.

Nu-Flame FR Colourcoat
A flat matt finish usually applied to ceilings.

Nu-Flame AG Colourcoat, Nu-Flame FR Acrylic Eggshell and Nu-Flame FR Scrubbable Colourcoat are ideal for hard-wearing surfaces.

Nu-Flame AG Colourcoat
A pigmented anti-graffiti flame-retardant paint finish produced in a range of pastel colours that resist graffiti.

Nu-Flame FR Acrylic Eggshell
A pigmented flame-resistant paint which can be made in any colour. It is hardwearing and has an eggshell finish.

Nu-Flame FR Scrubbable Colourcoat
Gives a flat matt fire protection with the added benefit of a hardwearing and scrub-resistant finish; perfect for corridors with high volumes of traffic.

Credentials

All paint finishes satisfy BS476 Parts 6 & 7 class ‘0’ requirements.

Nu-Flame® complies with the test reports WF N° 145477 & 145478 Issued by Warrington as tested on the Class 4 Warrington blue board.

Basecoat

Nu-Flame Heat Insulating Basecoat is an intumescent paint basecoat developed to insulate flammable paint systems and control surface spread of flame. When exposed to a fire it releases a flame-extinguishing gas which protects the surface. Simultaneously heat activates Nu-Flame Heat Insulating Basecoat underneath causing it to expand and create a fire-protective barrier, insulating old paint films from heat and oxygen.

Nu-Flame Heat Insulating Basecoat is an intumescent paint undercoat for application to previously painted plaster, Artex, board, brick and concrete walls and ceilings. This is then overcoated with the desired Nu-Flame fire-retardant paint which insulates old paint films from fire, controlling the spread of flames along walls and ceilings.
