Wilmott Dixon Construction
Wilmott Dixon Construction approached Setter Shelters as a result of previous bespoke work carried out for them at projects across the country. They wanted the company's expertise in the design and installation of a bespoke entrance canopy that had already had a specification laid out.
Using their intimate knowledge of glulam timber, Setter Shelters designed a free-standing entrance canopy that sits on a pair of uprights, meeting at the roof frame.
As part of the design brief, the company was tasked with ensuring the design would bear the load of the glass roof and frame.
The canopy uprights were installed onto steel feet, which avoids the need to concrete posts into the ground. The roof frame consists of steel and wood with toughened glass roofing sheets.
