Context

St Alphege Church in Whinstable is a well known historic landmark in Kent. The building's original Victorian roof was built in 1845 and had fallen into disrepair. After a local fundraising effort had raised enough money, work was able to commence to replace the old roof and preservce the church building for future generations.

Products supplied

Kent-based architects Clague was asked by conservation officers to use Canadian natural slates for the roof covering. Glendyne was chosen for its consistency, aesthetic appearance and durability.
