B40 frameless glass balustrade system
3 Glass Wharf is a 115,000 square metre commercial development in the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone, Bristol.
This 7-storey Salmon Harvester Properties development features a stunning glass facade and balustrade, reflecting the site’s previous usage as a glassworks. Upon completion, the building will deliver an extensive Cat A office space that will be occupied by the HMRC as part of its regional centres programme.
Designed by Darling Associates, with main contractor Wates Construction, the external facade package was let to Glassolutions.
At an early stage of construction the need for the balustrade base fixing channel was established to effectively integrate with the terrace fascias and soffits.
Following early design engagement, BA Systems was contracted for the design, manufacture and installation of their B40 frameless glass balustrade system to the external terraces. This was complemented with a small stainless steel capping handrail and base channel cover trims to integrate with surrounding trades.
