GRAMM Interlink Rail
During refurbishment of Staines railway station in Surrey, a new pedestrian handrail system was installed to improve access to the station.
The handrail system had to meet Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requirements and was to be fitted alongside a new sloped access ramp at the entrance to ensure safe and easy access for all passengers.
The handrails were constructed using modular Kee Access® components and finished in an orange colour, ensuring an attractive appearance whilst benefiting the sight-impaired user.
The safety guardrailing system was specified by railway engineering contractor, GRAMM Interlink Rail. “Safety was our foremost concern when selecting the access ramp at the front of the station, and Kee Safety was just right for the job” says Steve Lee, at GRAMM Interlink Rail. “The Kee Access® range meets the specification provided by the DDA. It’s also a solution that’s quick and easy to put together, making it a very cost-effective approach”.
The structures were installed by Kee Safety’s own design and installation team.
