Square cut fibre cement roof slates for low roof pitches

Thrutone Fibre Cement Slate has a smooth surface and square cut edges. This simplicity of profile gives a low profile product that can be used at a minimum pitch down to 15 degrees.

600mm x 300mm Thrutone tiles can be used:

  • For 15-17.5 degree pitches with a 110mm lap and rafters up to a maximum of 4m.
  • For 17.5-20 degree pitches with a 110mm lap and rafters up to a maximum of 6m.
  • In moderate weather exposure areas, down to 20 degree pitches, with 110mm laps.
  • In severe exposure areas, down to 22.5 degree pitches, with 110mm laps.
  • Various other possibilities are available, as well as a smaller 500x250mm Thrutone tile that can be used down to a minimum of 22.5 degrees, in moderate exposure areas, with a 100mm headlap.

Dressed edge fibre cement roof slates for low roof pitches

Birkdale Fibre Cement Slate has a smooth surface and dressed edges that offer a pleasing traditional look.It can be used for low pitch designs down to 15° when a hook fixing method is used. The hook fixing method is specifically intended for 15- 20 degree roof pitches in moderate weather exposure areas. Conventional nail and rivet fixing can still be used for steeper pitches or for severe exposure areas.

Birkdale tiles are 600mm x 300mm, and are recommended in the following specifications:

  • 15-17.5 degree roof pitches, 150mm headlap, rafters up to a maximum of 6m in moderate weather exposure.
  • 17.5-20 degree roof pitches, 150mm headlap, rafters up to a maximum of 9m in moderate and severe weather exposure.
  • 20 degree pitch, 110mm lap, moderate areas
  • 22.5 degree pitch, 110mm lap, severe areas
  • 22.5 degree pitch, 100mm lap, moderate areas.
  • 25 degree pitch, 100mm lap, severe areas.

Lincoln Clay Pantiles have an open-gauge design that is easy to fit, while still offering the bold and beautiful curves of traditional pantiles. They can are installed to meet the latest fixing requirements of BS 5534 and the NHBC technical standards.

  • Down to 17.5 degree pitches at a 120mm headlap
  • Down to 22.5 degree pitches at a 75mm headlap

Melodie Clay Single Interlocking Pantiles have a flexible gauge. They can be used at pitches as low as 12.5 degrees with a headlap of 92mm, with rafter lengths up to 6 metres.

Concrete tiles for low roof pitches

Edgemere Interlocking Slate is a large format concrete roof covering with a thin leading edge for a slate-like appearance.

  • Down to 22.5 degree pitches Smooth with a headlap of 75mm
  • Down to 17.5 degree pitches Smooth with a headlap of 100mm
