Squires & Brown
In 2008, Queenswood School, an independent day and boarding school situated in Hertfordshire, began the refurbishment of several of its boarding houses, overseen by Squires & Brown.
In 2011, an eight-month project saw the institution's former drama and domestic science building converted into Stamp House – a new Junior Boarding House with dormitories, communal bathroom and dining areas, providing for 45 boarders alongside a House Mistress and Assistant House Mistress.
Taplanes® Mini-Pods, containing a shower and large changing area, were chosen for the communal bathroom areas. The Mini-Pod was fitted complete with inset LED lighting, extraction grid, shower fitments, waste trap and internal chrome finished shower door.
Working closely with the architect and Queenswood School, Taplanes® provided a bespoke Mini-Pod with front finished with cladding to match the surrounding decor.
The pods provide an easy-to-maintain showering area, with a place to leave belongings whilst boarders shower and change, maximising space whilst ensuring privacy.
