Kirklees Active Leisure
Nu-Cryl AG Extra anti-graffiti coating
The new £36m Huddersfield Leisure Centre opened in Summer 2015. It was funded by a combination of cash from the sale of the existing site and other council funds that would otherwise have to be spent on repairs to the current sports centre and other buildings, running into millions of pounds.
Nu-Cryl AG Extra anti-graffiti coating was supplied by Hydron and was applied to the external brickwork to protect the surface from graffiti and general dirt and grime.
As Nu-Cryl AG Extra is an invisible impregnation it will keep the natural appearance of the new brick while still giving maximum protection. Simply applied in 1 application Nu-Cryl AG Extra offers an permanent anti-graffiti system with easy removal of graffiti.
The new leisure centre replaces the old centre in Southgate which had come to the end of its life. It is owned by Kirklees Council and managed by Kirklees Active Leisure (KAL). Works were undertaken by BAM Construction.
