Rainbow canopy; polycarbonate roofing sheets
The requirement of this project was to design, manufacture and install two monopitch canopies that suited the rest of the new build at Roecroft Lower School.
This meant visiting the site and understanding the plans for the rest of the build, and co-ordinating with Willmott Dixon as to when Setter could access the site to construct the shelters.
This also included researching the school to ensure the canopy matched the style and feel of the rest of the school.
After initial site visits and consultations with the main contractor, CAD plans and renders were produced using SketchUp and other design software.
These designs were proposed and accepted by the lead architect, and logistics were organised to ensure the shelters were constructed on time and with minimal disruption to the larger building works.
As Setter Shelters' rainbow canopies come in a multitude of colours, the company thought it would be fitting to propose striped white and yellow roofing, to match the school's colours. The school was pleased with this idea.
A trouble-free installation meant that the canopies were constructed seamlessly alongside the main build. Wilmott Dixon benefitted from having minimal disruption on site, and the construction of two wooden canopies that complement the rest of the new build.
