Polyfoam® ECO Roofboard Super
CLM, the consortium responsible for delivery of the London 2012 Olympic Games, had to provide infrastructure on time and on budget, as well as create a valuable legacy for London.
The acquatic centre was designed by Zaha Hadid architects to a concept of the fluid geometry of water in motion. Housed beneath a distinctive wave-like curved roof, the centre contains a 50m competition pool, a 50m warm-up pool and a 25m competition diving pool.
The insulation specification required a high performance product with highly water resistant properties and the ability to withstand the building’s moisture.
Knauf Insulation’s Polyfoam® Roofboard Super range have been used to thermally insulate the roof of London’s new 17,500 seat Aquatics Centre. Polyfoam® specified.
Supplied by Travis Perkins, 1100m3 of the product was used within the build.
The aquatic centre provides a legacy for London, with an international-class sports facilitiy that is insulated so as to have low ongoing operating costs.
